I have got a beautiful parable a very dear friend of mine shared with me and I would like to share it with you!! It is about a pregnant deer which is about to give birth. She finds a remote grass field in the Savanna near a strong flowing river. This seems a safe place. Suddenly labour pains begin. At that time dark clouds gather above& lightning starts a forest fire. She looks to her left and sees a hunter with his bow pointing right at her. What can the pregnant deer do? She is in labour, what will happen? Will the deer survive? Will she give birth to the fawn? Or will everything be burnt by the forest fire? Will she Parrish by the hunters arrow ? Will she die a horrible death at the hands of a hungry lion approaching her? She is constrained by the fire on the one side& the flowing river on the other& boxed in by her natural predators! What does she do? She focuses on giving birth to a new life. The sequence of events that follows. - Lightning strikes and blinds the hunter. -He releases the arrow which zips past the deer & strikes the hungry lion -It starts to rain heavily, and the forest fire is slowly dosed by the rain - the deer gives birth to a healthy fawn. In our lives too, there our moments of choice when we are confronted from all sides with negative thought, challenges and possibilities of ruining us. Some thoughts are so powerful they overcome us and overwhelm us! Should we entertain them? Maybe we can learn from the deer, in that given moment, was simply to give birth , the rest was not in her hands & any actions that changed her focus would likely resulted in death or disaster . Ask yourself where is your focus? Where is your mind in the midst of the storm? Do we keep our trust in God? He will NEVER disappoint you. He neither sleeps not slumber..... God will never forsake you in your time of need... Hope this touches someone as it has touched me
