I have had many questions about using the tabletop composter. The tabletop version is just to get your compost started and to save you time and eliminate wasting valuable kitchen scraps that could go into your garden or flowers. I am posting this article about composting for a main compost, where you will drop the contents of your ceramic composter outside, although there are inside version as well. I have raised beds, so as my crops mature and die back, I dig a trench and dispose of the compost there and cover it with dirt and turn it and water it every once in a while, enriching the soil for the future garden, like the Fall garden I will be planting at the end of August. I suggest bio bags to line the composter and you can pick up carbon filters to eliminate odor, that way you can put your lovely composter on the countertop and not under the sink as this article suggests! eartheasy/grow_compost.html
