I have had several emails and messages wondering if I am back - TopicsExpress

I have had several emails and messages wondering if I am back baking again. I have hesitated to write anything until now. I have spent the last few weeks completing wedding cake orders that I contracted to do awhile back. I have one more next weekend. I am sad to say that I will no longer be taking new orders. I am doing well, health-wise. Actually, I am doing fantastic! Yesterday was my 6 month anniversary of my repaired Mitral Valve. Other than the scar I feel and people can sometimes see, the scar is the only physical reminder of open heart surgery. I am off all medications and feeling great. Mentally, I am in a much better place. I am enjoying time with family that I let pass by me before because I was always too busy. Priorities are much different these days. The last few months have taken our lives in a new turn. My husband has taken over additional responsibilities at work (family owned business). With 3 active daughters, my time is their time, and there is really none to spare. We also have some family members that are ill and in need of attention from us. I made it all work before, but like I said, life seemed to be passing me by. My husband and I made the decision together that I would focus on our family and put my cake business on hold. I apologize for not saying anything sooner. I told a couple of my wedding cake customers, but I didn’t want to freak out anyone right before their big day. I had/have every intention of finishing what I contracted to do. I will post some pictures of the last few cakes I have done so you can see what I did after open heart surgery I want to say a huge Thank You to everyone who has bought from me or sent me words of encouragement. I have met some truly great people over the last 3.5 years. Without all of you I wouldn’t have enjoyed my work nearly as much as I have. The pleasure I have gotten out of delivering a personal, one of a kind creation for everyone’s special events is priceless. Some of the expressions are sincerely special and ingrained in my memory. While I am sad to let it all go, I am thankful for it all, and I look forward to what is in store from this point forward. Life is short, so I am going to enjoy it while I can. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Sweet Wishes, Olivia
