I have had treatments, and I have refused treatments. My upcoming surgery is due to a treatment I opted to try and quit taking 10 months into a 10 year sentence - one that I believe I never would have lived to see, if I had kept on taking it (well see if I make the mark now!!! Fingers and eyes crossed!) BUT it was my choice. Everything was. Im grateful for the choices I have as a patient. I know my body well. If I were forced to continue the meds that nearly did me in, and are sending me to the OR next week, I would probably be gone today. Everyone is different. But, we should have informed choice making. We should also have access via our medical teams for alternative medicines. Im lucky to be stubborn, addicted to research, and a sucker for a good eastern cure. Were all doing our best, so - lets allow people to be treated for cancer in their own way (but lets try and balance the choices out, shall we???)
