I have just had one of the most enlightening conversations of my life with a good friend from Zimbabwe. We discussed that state of life, the world, and Africa in particular. What a privilege it is for me to have access to some of the brightest minds on the African continent. Thinkers and philosophers for whom the future shines as bright as the brightest stars in the constellation. A younger generation of people for whom emancipation from colonial rule means the world. People who now reap the benefit of the fight of their fathers (and mothers). People who are not burdened by that fight and who, consequently, have the freedom to take Africa forward. I live in hope for Africa. I watch with interest and anticipation. What a privileged position in which I find myself!
