I have just heard some of the congregants who had been taken - TopicsExpress

I have just heard some of the congregants who had been taken forcefully into prison in the recent random mass arrest are released around 7 pm Eritrean time this evening. They had been incarcerated in Fourth Police Station, in a place called Mai Temanai, for the last 8 days. Those who are temporarily released are elderly women, mothers who had been in prison with their children and some elderly men. There was a mother with her five children in the prison. The men are released after surrendering their business licenses and land ownership certificates as a bail bond. The young and some other Christians have not yet been released. At the time of their arrest there were about 180 people within the compound. And all of them were arrested. They were gathered for a special prayer and healing service. Accordingly many believers beforehand were told to bring friends and relatives with chronic diseases, unwell pregnant women and the like to the program. And at the time of the interrogation the patients replied, The reason they were in the fellowship was as Doctors could not identify their illnesses, they came for a Divine healing. Its barbaric to throw very sick people, pregnant women, elderly men and women and children for the last 8 days into a harsh prison cell. One day in a prison could break an innocent man forever. It can affect physically and psychologically. The worst part is they will not tell you your verdict. You may only put someone into prison for a duration of 24 hours. After that either you will take him to court or you will release him. But in the current Eritrea impunity rules. Tyranny could arrest and release you at any time without any reference of the law. May the LORD bring justice and freedom to Eritrea. Amen
