I have just received a very interesting message on procreation through my messages. This was in conjunction with a Westerner friend inquiring about the Hindu/Shaivite views. I decided this response might be worth a share. I do not have the Bharatheeya concept, but here is an answer I can present. Hinduism and Shaivism has presented procreation as a beautiful reality. It is known to be vital for the existence of our world. Hinduism and Shaivism has presented the concept in a dignified manner. How can we be ashamed or how can such a topic be taboo when it exists all around us? Like all things, rather than seeing it as something wrong, we try to understand and embrace the reality. The difference in this concept, however, is that the openness has led to better presentation on how couples can enjoy procreation. We have statues and books discussing the topic in great detail. The fact is, procreation is very good for couples. Remember that the act of fornication is good for strengthening the bond, as well as the emotional relationship between husband and wife, and is known to have great physical and mental health benefits. The sense of enjoyment in lovemaking between couples is also well presented. It is important for a healthy relationship to have both couples feel fulfilled and satisfied, which can be achieved if both parties have sincere love for each other. If both parties love each other, then their act is their offer of love to please and satisfy their partner. The act thus becomes selfless, and if both husband and wife are selfless to each other, the experience becomes even more poetic. I hope this helps. Om Namah Shivaya
