I have just returned from my mother in laws funeral, held yesterday in Cherokee, Alabama. I had posted her obituary on my own wall, but did not realize at the time I did (and made a sterile reference to it) that a prior post I thought I had made did not actually show on my wall. So, a few more thoughts: We were blessed to have her in our home the last months of her life. She was a special lady, and very accomplished and determined, as you can tell from the obituary. I have been present for the deaths of Mrs. Malone and of each of my parents. Although, in my experience, physically it is never as pretty as they portray it in the movies, emotionally and spiritually I can only describe the experience as ... sacred. The veil becomes very thin, and you cannot help but ponder the Plan, your part in it, and how you are doing in your own life. Live each day as if it were your last. From this Idaho Hawaiian to this Alabama country lady who gave me such a good woman for a wife...Aloha oe. We will miss you.
