They’re very organized individuals. As exasperating as Sensitive behavior can be to an Assertive personality, you can learn to love and appreciate their perfectionism. If you can turn a chore or task over to a Sensitive it will be accomplished neatly and as close to perfect as conceivable – or their perception of perfection. They make excellent proof-readers, great typists and great at jobs that involve a degree of detail. Words count with a Sensitive. Every word that comes their way will be played back in their mind and dissected for meaning. Their feelings are easily hurt. They have to work hard to keep from falling under a spirit of offense. The Sensitive should stop and ask “did they mean to hurt my feelings?” or “could I be reading too much into what they stated?” It also helps to simply play back remarks that are possibly hurtful and make certain they haven’t translated them incorrectly. A Sensitive may become easily detached. It’s a good thing to stay in touch and give them a lot of positive feedback and personal affirmation. Sensitive’s think day in and day out. When they are quiet and seem to be in their own world, there maybe something they’re not telling you. Don’t be afraid to ask them if everything is okay. They might not tell you what is truly wrong, but be prepared for that. If you get the feeling they’ve been hurt by something you said, just ask them if they have. A slight miscommunication may have a big impact.
