I have mixed feelings about death. Even though I am an atheist, I ponder the idea of an afterlife, just without the belief of a god or gods...so after death is there nothing...like before we were born...and we wouldnt know we were dead...there would be no conscious, no memories, much like the first millions of years on earth that one didnt exist. Its depressing to think that, but then again, I wont have the conscious to realize it after I am gone. Or, do we all become ghosts, living in this world but in a different dimension in a more pure form of energy, only able to manifest by pulling the energy from around us? Do we see the world the same, or would we view it differently? If that is the case, are we aware of the real world, or do they seem like outsiders to us as we would to them? Would we still possess the same feelings as we did when we were alive? Its interesting to ponder these things. I believe in ghosts, but only because Ive seen for myself that they exist with personal experiences. Im not delusional and I know what I have experienced firsthand but I also dont consider it fact that there is a life of some sort after death. Yet if there is nothing after death, then how do they exist? I kind of hope that we simply escalate to a purer form of consciousness and energy, and continue to walk among this world in a different dimension. Who knows? Someday I will know for sure. Either one of the above circumstances is alright with me, because either way this is the only life I have to live and I will live it to the fullest and do the things I want to do and accomplish my dreams to be happy before I perish. I live for this life, not the afterlife, and that makes my life so meaningful despite what people think. I have everything to live for and I live this life for me and those in my life that I love. Its a freeing experience. I have many theories, but none are or ever will be proven until the time comes that I see for myself, but I will not be around, as everyone else, to provide the answer.
