I have, more or less, just finished writing the August game for - TopicsExpress

I have, more or less, just finished writing the August game for Legends of the Mark. I feel the effort put forth is rushed, we are short on cast and a bit unprepared. I dont know what will happen. I hope everyone tries to meet us halfway and remembers that is is just a game, an ever-evolving game. I would also like to take the time to address some complaints and issues that have reached me through the grapevine and through direct communication. Some have said that there is no point to playing a game that will end soon, as the rumor is this year and next year are the LAST Legends games. But soothsaying is always inaccurate. No one can predict the future. We have a two year plan, but that does not mean we are only going to be around for two years. Legends of the Mark will be the last game I play before I retire from larping. But I have no designs to do that for some time. I have also been accused of favoritism. This one is my least favorite rumor. I have always tried to make a fun game for everyone. Yes, there are a lot of holy rollers. But that does not mean plot for other classes were not written. Last game saw some activity for the Thieves, the Nature Faction and a Mage quest that could be our most sweeping plot yet. This game promises to further those stories. Now, I wish to give all players some advice. This game is written mostly by me, in a dark, hot room and it takes up a lot of my time. I have also been doing it for more than two decades and I have used every idea, genius or half-baked, that I can think of. Sometimes I need help from you, the player. Players that turn in character histories, submit BGAs and add to atmosphere of game by actions and acting will be written for first. There are some characters who I know next to nothing about, even after years. I have no idea what to write for you. Some characters have no land or origin, religion, affiliations or backstory. If you want more plot, fill in some of these blanks. For longtime players, you made your characters when you were young and your sheets reflect this. Take some time and update your information. Research the world history, mature your character, write, write, write! You give me a hook, I will bite! And please be patient. I will try to make your game better. But if we have to part ways due to creative differences, so be it. I dont want you to play if you are miserable. You just bring us all down. This game, lets try to have fun! Maybe the next few years will be better than any before, but we cannot find out without effort. Get ready, I promise battle, glory and strife!
