I have never understood how anyone who claims to be a patriot and says they love the USA can display the battle flag flown by traitors who attempted (and failed) to destroy our Union. I can admire the fighting qualities and generalship of various rebels, but waving their flag is another matter. And when anyone gives that old excuse that the Civil War was ultimately not about slavery, I remember Fort Pillow and the Battle of the Crater where rebels accepted the surrender of white Union soldiers and murdered the Black ones. If the rebels ever did capture a Black Union soldier, they were often sold into slavery. But the Civil War was over states rights? Rubbish. My muscular Celtic butt it was.
