I have no doubt that this case, whilst devastating for the family at the moment is going to have ground breaking consequences and will call for a massive overhaul in the way the system currently runs. I believe this case will call to an end the nanny state we live in where parents are unable to question authority figures without having their parental authority threatened or removed. Ashyas parents exercised their God given right to do what they believed to be best for their child. Im not religious, and that statement was a figure of speech, but one that also holds true religious significance. In biblical texts it clearly states that parents have the ultimate responsibility under God to do their upmost for their children. Nowhere does it say in any texts, unless someone with a medical doctorate thinks he knows better. Im disappointed and worried by the situation at hand, that this has been allowed to happen to this family, but excited by the inevitable changes that will come as the nation stands behind them to show their support, not just to their cause but against the current system which believes itself to be omnipotent.
