I have not been able to do a project in YEAARRRRS So , this chair - TopicsExpress

I have not been able to do a project in YEAARRRRS So , this chair has a story. My dad built it a LONG time ago. He hated the rinky dinky small narrow patio furniture so he made his own. It must be 30 years old or more. When he made things I was always there with him, helping and he wanted me to learn. He was very good at measuring and numbers (me not so much) But he taught me how to use tools, hand tools, power tools. And he readily gave me the go ahead to do things, be creative, make build on my own. So he built this chair, I helped. Whacked those nails in, saw some wood and sand it down and paint it ....as a kid. It is getting wobbly and worn, repainting needed. So yesterday in little increments of time I was able to remove some of the old nails that I had hammered into that a a kid and replace them. Talked to dad the whole time. Took a good look at the chair man he made it well. its been outside all those years. So its a little bit more reinforced and I put on my protective barrier so as not to smell or absorb the pain (MCS issues) and I sanded it down with the electric palm sander and began to paint. It felt so good. Work in progress is better than no work at all. I am feeling happy to have begun to accomplish something. I miss doing things Almost one coat done.
