I have not seen New York, I could not prove by abstract reasoning - TopicsExpress

I have not seen New York, I could not prove by abstract reasoning that there must be such a place, I believe it because reliable people have told me so. In fact, every historical statement of the world is believed on authority as none of us have seen the Norman Conquest or the defeat of the Armada. We believe them because people who did see them have left writings that tell us about them. Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis For the atheist who thinks Christianity is a mere made up fable with no proof but only writings in a book from those who have said they witnessed the events.....I guess those same individuals should also question all of history before they were born as the only reason they know of said history is by reading about it in books.
