I have noticed that the institution that we have come to know as church is quick to boast in our gifts, virtues and achievements. We love to parade our great gift of faith, our spiritual discernment, our prophetic insight, our ability to gain material wealth, our theological understanding, yet, Im reminded by the Apostle Paul, that, regardless of your many great virtues, if we do not walk in the love anointing we are nothing. Even the disciples were proud of their accomplishment of forgiving some who had trespassed against them seven times. But, Jesus was not impressed. He told them that real forgiveness is basically limitless (7x70 in one day). Certainly this level of forgiveness can only be achieved through perfect love. Someone said recently that the church had became worldly. And even though this statement is true it is not the root of the problem. Jesus declared that sin would abound because love is absent. The bottom line is that we may all marvel at your great gifts, talents, skill, abilities, and possessions, but, only pure love impresses the God of love. Peace.
