I have now spent my official first day as a foster mother to two little boys! Whew!!! I now have a much deeper appreciation for foster parents everywhere. No matter how much training we have gone through, nothing can actually prepare you for the reality of two little boys coming to live in your home, join your family and call your house "home". Today has been such a blessing for us! But more importantly, my eyes have been opened to the reality of these little people! It is such a huge responsibility and so special at the same time. I just spent the last hour chasing monsters out of our home, giving hugs and tucks, reading stories and realizing how hard this must be for them! I cannot fathom how they must feel, but at the same time, I am looking so forward to playing with all of our children tomorrow.... Feeling blessed. (And sincerely hoping they plan on sleeping at some point tonight) :)
