I have often seen that atheists ask for the proof of existence of God. Maybe there is proof, maybe it doesnt exist. But the point of God, has been more of a social cause, and not a scientific one. If an atheist has problems in life, he blames himself or worse blames the others around him. Theists too do the same. But they find easy relief. They treat God as a silent psychiatrist and often tend to blame God for their misfortune and hence, this acts as big psychological stress-reliever to them. Yes, there are many negative points about religions. Yes, religions have been interpreted in wrong ways. But, all the followers of a religions, no matter how diverse and different, all believe in God. Hence, this is how I define God to atheists An intangible force, whom people think can solve their problems. Hence, the truth about the existence of God is irrelevant, but God is needed.
