I have one more Mom story I want to share, have thought about it for a long time. The year we went to New Orleans I had told her we would go on a riverboat. That didnt ever happen, part of a day we should have been out looking for the riverboat, I was in my room pouting over some man. I think we did do the ferry across the river, and she really enjoyed LeMoynes Landing, an outdoor restaurant right on the river. Fast forward to the day of this picture - I was outside looking over the railing when the boat pulled away from the dock. The minute I felt it move, the awesome sensation that was the riverboat, I totally lost it. Nothing like that had ever happened to me before. I was crying uncontrollably and couldnt stop. It was the combination of so many things (it was JazzFest week, after all) and the promise of the Riverboat that I didnt keep, and the unresolved grief over my mother...
