I have personally met Maheish Girri on many occasions . He was one of the new faculty members of the Art of Living and had given up his seat as the monastic head of one of trusts in Gujarat which he was heading at a very young age ( twenties ) . On one of the courses in Delhi (in 2003) Maheish Girri when i first met him he was wearing a vibrant saffron Kurta /Dhoti with Golden Kundals ( earrings ) and head shaven. Not only was he vibrant in his looks his talk was very inspiring as well . Soon he became known for his oratory skills and rib tickling humor . After meeting him and listening to him i was sure there is no stopping this person . I had a chance to interact with him again in London (2007-2008) where he conducted a few courses . Not very fluent in english he was snubbed by the Air Hostess on this flight to London , he nevertheless gave talks in English ( in fact he learnt it as he went from one talk to the other) for next 2 weeks and inspired everyone .The body of work he has done in East Delhi is phenomenal .When he decided to contest the elections i knew he would win ( irrespective of the party he joined ) . There is excitement and joy amongst those who know him after the elections as they are assured that there is member of parliament who is a spiritual dynamite willing to serve the people .
