I have posted here a few times over the last year that Regentek is a stem cell scam company to be avoided at all costs. Unfortunately they are not the only ones. I have been flabbergasted to discover the number of scam companies also operating here in Australia - with one in particular so overt in its aggressive patient recruitment and lack of transparency that I am shocked they are still allowed to operate. As per Regentek, do NOT assume that any stem cell organisation that markets itself as a non-profit charity is legit. It just highlights how poorly the behaviour of some non-profits are monitored here in Australia. Key warning signs for those with MS considering using a stem cell company: 1. Lack of information without completing an application form. Why? Most doctors will happily be transparent when asked about their treatments, costs, locations etc. 2. The old bait and switch. You make contact about the stem cell treatment you are interested in and they try to talk you into other treatments instead. ie. bovine colostrum and other nutritional supplements, the use of fat stem cells which are not expanded ex-vivo (basically a fat transplant instead of HSCT). 3. Persistent criticism of other treatment facilities, while trying to sell you their own. 4. The claim that they are conducting clinical trials yet you can not find any record of these trials at anzctr.org.au 5. The doctor who will be treating you is NOT a haematologist, neurologist, or immunologist. Here is a tip: most doctors in these 3 specialities do NOT also offer botox, laser peels, and face fillers. If the doctor treating you is nothing more than a glorified GP then RUN! (no offence to the great GPs of the world who operate within their scope of practice) 6. No chemo = no cure. Nothing will stop your MS long term unless you stop the autoimmune process. You can inject liquid hope all you like but without chemo your MS will return in due course (and you will also be broke). I hope this helps some people from wasting their money at the hands of these scammers. Have a read of this: wheelchairkamikaze/2015/01/a-stem-cell-scam-unravels.html
