I have posted this clip before but what the hell, today is probably an appropriate day to post it up again. A couple of years ago Jim and I visited Palm Springs, CA. I knew that Elvis owned a house there so we found the address. We knew we had found it when a large silhouette of him was painted on the front of the house. There was a lady in the front garden watering the rose bushes and I asked whether she would mind if I took some photos. She replied of course you can and would you like to come in for a private tour? So we were taken on a tour of the Elvis wing of the house by the delightful owners. They told us lovely stories and anecdotes of Elvis that had been relayed to them by all the neighbours. This was his getaway house from LA and he owned this house from 1970 until his death in 1977. It was a very low key and unassuming house - nothing like Graceland at all. We were there for a couple of hours and Jim asked the owner could we have a dance by the pool. The owner agreed and filmed it for us and we were the first people to apparently have ever done this. It was an amazing, emotional and wonderful experience I will never forget - we were in the right place at the right time. Im mighty glad that we were. :-)
