I have posted this twice in the past couple years. I feel that it is something that needs to be addressed again. When all else fails, Gods love prevails. Please take the time to read this short essay I wrote awhile back on my interpretation of what true love really is. I promise it will change your life if you take it to heart. Its also the reason I am so happy all the time...even when life knocks me down. FINDING LOVE: Why is it so hard to find love? Because the world is so caught up in secular love that they have lost sight of what true love really is. Love is not a one night stand or a weekend fling. So many times we confuse love for lust, and so many times we are left empty and alone. The lack of faith and the corruption of religious organizations have caused people to turn away from the church and ultimately turn away from God. By doing so they are missing out on true love. God is love and without God you have no love. You have an illusion of love that is often confused for lust or empty pleasures. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 & 13 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails... 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. You see, Gods love is perfect and pure and full of life. It is an unconditional love that will never fail no matter how wrong you have been or how far away you think you are from God. He never left your side and never stopped loving you. That is the love that I strive to have. An unconditional love that will never fade and will always shine bright for all around me to see. I am not perfect by any means and I have had my fair share of screw ups. But I know that I have a Father up in Heaven that is looking down on me saying I know the contents of your heart, and I forgive you and love you because I sent my Son to die for you so that when you have those thoughts and feelings and perform those actions you are forgiven so that you may one day enter those pearly gates and walk down the streets of gold to the mansion I have prepared for you. If He can love me enough to sacrifice His Son for me and forgive me of all my sins then I will love unconditionally as well! When the world turns away from the idea that beautiful people are the only ones worthy of love and turns love back into love and away from lust then marriages will stop falling apart, families will stay together, gang activity will die down, students will stay in school and get proper educations, people will work for an honest living, there will be less violence and crime in the street...the list goes on God is love and without God there is no love. Without God there is no peace. Without God we are all dead. Gods love is the love I strive to emulate and one day some very lucky woman will get to be showered with Gods love through me. And we will live our lives out as husband and wife raising our kids to love unconditionally as God loves us. We will set a trend and bring meaning back to marriage and teach our kids to carry on that image as well. Who will stand with me and take love back from the secular world and restore it to its unconditional values they way God intended love to be? --Sam Gillette
