I have really been trying to avoid politics as of late. However, I am really disappointed with this whole Syria business. First of all, I am not convinced that the Assad regime carried out the most recent chemical attacks. Secondly, even if they did, does it make a difference? Last I heard almost 100,000 have died and millions have been displaced. Why are we using this as an excuse to step in now? Does the president feel guilty that he has stood by and done nothing for so long? Lobbing missiles at Syria is about like throwing matches at a burning bee hive to try and save the honey. It is a waste of money and will probably end up being a waste of life. Syria is in chaos and no amount of PEW PEW BOOM BOOM by Amurica is going to change that. I am no expert and I wish nothing more than happiness for the people of Syria. There is nothing more heart wrenching than seeing the bodies of those poor children. However, sometimes putting out the fire is not always in the best interest of the forest. Sometimes in order for there to be new growth, the old must be burned away. As much as I hate to say it, this is a fire that needs to burn out on its own. I say a prayer for all those who are caught in its flames.
