I have recently read of many instances that have missed or “ignored’ the message that OUR president put forth today. It seems that it has become quite the fashion to half-listen to the message of a smart man in touch with not only his background and color differences with the mainstream but to totally ignore all that life screams for us to face with common sense. Seriously though! Our “black” president feels a connection with a lost youth that was misunderstood and faced the ultimate retribution? Two lost souls on a course for destruction will not define us! I’m old enough to have experienced a plethora of presidents that have been less straight-forward with their inner thoughts and I have to admit. Be him Republican or Democrat. I respect his straightforwardness and honest attempt at smoothing a rough path. Yet, all I see is negativity. It could be a sign of the times and if this is truly so, I think I might have to excuse myself from any and all contact to the current correspondence. I have a reluctance to post on an open forum like Facebook with a message as such but I lay my feelings out bare here. Someday, I envision a society of complete acceptance. I even hope someday that many of you will accept the fact that I happen to be born white. Imagine that….
