I have seen His Holiness the Dalai Lama in many different settings, from one-to-one meetings to small groups of 20-30 people to venues holding many thousands. What always impresses is the way he makes contact with everyone present, no matter how large the audience, and imparts some meaningful thoughts. He also often “changes” the organisers’ best laid plans to ensure that this happens.
