I have seen a lot of post lately about "fathers walking their daughters down the isle." I respect this position and tradition in our society But, one must know: That a real father, I mean a real dad- raises his girls up to be strong young women. That if he does not have that opportunity to "traditionally walk them down the isle." They have the strength to walk themselves. They know that he taught them to climb to the top of the tree, finish the race strong, and face the world. Other strong beautiful young girls have paved the way. I watched my cousin, who I admire so much, walk herself down the isle. No-one could take the place of her father. She was my mentor! I knew in my heart on that day, I saw her walking down the isle alone, that I would do the same. Stop grieving over what could have been and forge ahead.
