I have spent a lot of time this past month pondering the whole #NLpropheticselfie thing at church. This is what I have ended up with…when Cindy was talking that first Sunday morning she was showing us all of her photo frames and she ended her line up with an empty frame. It was awaiting the arrival of her coming grandbaby. The unknown but expected! That has really stuck with me. I look back at the past year and a half of my life…February 2013- I spent almost a month in bed fighting and finally giving in to my severe depression. After 20 some years of fighting, continually failing, and punishing myself for failing, I came to the “end” of my fight. I gave up and decided to free fall. Now that is not what you think!! It means coming to the end of me and realizing that I had done all I could do and it was ok to get help! I jumped off that cliff I had been clinging to for so long. I said ok God, trusting you are going to catch me and show me a new way…and He is teaching me how to fly =) Free falling is proving an amazing (and scary at times) journey!! The reason I am telling you this is because in February 2013 I could not have ever imagined where I am today! I am back in church and getting involved, a part of a life group, going out by myself (yes I realize that seems inconsequential to most but simply walking out my door was often beyond my ability) , making new friends and renewing old relationships!! Life is amazing!! Saying all of this leads to my point…I promise =) My #NLpropheticselfie is an empty frame!!! I have absolutely no idea what I will look like in a year. However, like Cindy’s coming grandbaby, I am preparing for it! Each day lining myself up with Him, stepping over that cliff in trust of my God who has never left me or forsaken me, who has brought me so far!!! My frame is empty because I don’t know where God will take me in the next year, but I am expecting something wonderful… beautiful….precious!!!
