I have spent quite a long time reading through the comments attached to this article, following links to other information and looking for even more before sharing this, not because I am not supportive of bringing in more refugees, in deed we as a nation should be looking at offering a new start/future to men, women and children. - but simply because I hesitated knowing that by sharing this, especially on this weekend, -Australia Day - that I might find myself being attacked on my own timeline for sharing this post. THEN I decided that empathy, common decency are good reasons to ignore those who have a different opinion to me because as I stated the other night, I am not going to continue to accept in my life negative people who expect me to compromise my moral values or try to bully or guilt me into toeing the line. So if you think that you might disagree with this post that is fine, it is your right, but please keep your opinion on YOUR OWN timeline: but if you choose to attack m you will find yourself removed from my life. ***Many refugees arriving from previous conflicts have gone on to become doctors, researchers, academics, and offer so much richness to our country. It is time that we all - human beings that is- started to stop looking at race, religion, colour, and start to remember that we are ALL human beings.
