I have suffered from depression all my life. In fact, due to genetics, psychiatrists say I was probably born with it! Unfortunately, due to societies stigma attached, I never sought medical attention for it, but shoved the symptoms under a rug, hoping theyd just go away! At first, I didnt. even recognize them. Finally, at the age of 40, I saw a real live., bonafide psychiatrist and was diagnosed with Recurring Clinical Depression! This means that the medication which I have been prescribed is going to be for life! I can never stop taking it. Trust me Ive tried! The recurring part of my diagnosis wont allow me to stop! I have never really gone public with this before and just hope that I will not be judged because of it! Anyone who knows me, is able to see that I do not let depression run my life. I RUN IT! Whenever you see me and I m smiling, which happens to be just about all the time, it means that I am in CONTROL, not my depression!.
