I have taken a conscious to join NEHAWU and resign as a DENOSA shopsteward with effect from today. Those that are next to me will surely understand that this is a conscious decision that I made after all that I have went through especially this year. Even on my departure I still hold a view that provincial secretaries must be elected in congresses than to be employed for a lifetime. I will not continue to associate my self with people who went to an extent of selling me to the employer, living me out of a blue when I was suspended and prevent me from attending union congresses simple because I have views. NEHAWU just like DENOSA is under COSATU. The struggle to advance the interests of the poor and the working class continues with or without a position. Leadership is not about a positions but influence, I believe that as a general member of NEHAWU I will still represent the interests of nurses in particular and all workers in general like before.
