I have to ask Why is it sooo difficult for Australian politicians - TopicsExpress

I have to ask Why is it sooo difficult for Australian politicians to say SORRY? Why cant Mr. Abbot apologise to Indonesia for this spying scandal? I thought the idea of collecting intelligence information was to stop people smuggling, drug pushing, terrorism, illegal arms dealing...but to spy on the Indonesian President and his wife is just crazy. President Yudhoyono is a good man..n has been a good friend to Australia. So why tap his mobile phone? It risks a lot, if Abbot cant bring himself to say Sorry. Indonesia and Australia have had a great relationship in combating a lot of mutual problems. Friends should NOT spy on friends. And former Australian foreign minister, Alexander Downer, says we never deny or confirm matters of intelligence gatherinng...well, hellloooo, you pompous prick...how can it be denied..it is already confirmed...already a fact as revealed by Edward Snowden...now the only option is to say SORRY, IT WONT HAPPEN AGAIN. And who ordered it. Kevin Rudd was Prime Mister at the time this spying took place...maybe he ordered it. Whoever ordered it should be exposed n make a full explanation Why. As former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser said, intelligence gathering costs the taxpayer many hundreds of millions of dollars, so it should be used to gather information on terrorist organisations, drug smuggling, etc...not wasting money on spying on a friend. In Malcolm Frasers own words, If there is to be a peaceful world, a level of trust between leaders has to be established. It is not worth putting it at risk by snooping on the people whose trust one wants to win.
