I have to brag on my wife Joy. Shes a transportation broker moving military freight everyday helping the different branches of the U.S. Military with troop movements and transporting Humvees and other military equipment.. She also helps the U.S. Boarder Patrol and Homeland Security move their vehicles around the country. Its her way of helping to keep this country a little more safe. So for that alone Im proud of her. Occasionally she will get phone calls from individuals looking to move their personal vehicles. So was the case the other day. Joy got a phone call from an older sounding man who needed a truck transported from the upper portion of Michigan. He was cordial to her but she could sense he was a little frustrated and didnt sound happy. He told her he had contacted a company out of Florida who said they would move his truck. The broker told him hed have to pay $150 up front before they would send someone to pick up his truck. He paid the money up front but the broker never sent the driver to get the old mans truck. When Joy heard this she was extremely upset. The old man told her just to forget about it. He was tired of dealing with it. She told him she would try to find a driver to come get his truck and hung up. She immediately call the broker from the Florida company and called him out about taking advantage of this nice old man. The other broker was rude and unhelpful from the get go. Joy told him he WAS going give the money back. Of course the broker claimed he didnt know what she was talking about and hung up on her. That night at home Joy told me the story. She was still very upset that someone would take advantage of a senior citizen like that. She tried all the next day to find a driver to pick up the mans truck with no luck. Most drivers are reluctant to drive that far up into Michigan. She just call me jumping for joy (no pun intended) saying she had found a driver to go and get the mans truck. AND, she had talked to another broker at the Florida company and is probably going to get the mans money back. When I hung up with her she was about to call the man and give him the good news. I think a lot of people would have just shrugged this old mans problems off and went about their on lives. Not Joy...she has a lot of integrity and work ethic. Im so proud of her and so lucky to have her in my life.
