I have to come clean to all my friends and family and admit an egregious act that I recently committed. This will most likely shock and disappoint the majority, if not all, of you. Kristen does know that this happened and we are trying to work our way through it. The sad and somewhat disturbing part is that she was there watching and actually encourage me to do it. I even think at the time there was a part of her that kind of enjoyed it, which is an entirely different issue that we will have to deal with at a later time. So...this is really difficult for me to say out load...on this past Monday afternoon, after spending the morning delivering gifts to church adopted families, we decided to complete some innocent last minute Christmas shopping. We went to Barnes and Noble to pick up some books and headed to the checkout line, without any clue of the deviant horror that was about to take place. Just as it was almost our turn to checkout, 4 college temptresses approached us. For a small donation they would wrap our gifts for us. They were all Special Education Teaching majors and the money was allegedly going to fund a trip to a conference in San Diego. Without even thinking we agreed. And thats when I noticed it! As big and blood red as you could imagine!! All 4 of these scallywags were wearing Central College shirts!!! Their services had already begun to be rendered and obviously I couldnt have them stop in the middle of wrapping my package. The feeling of joy and shame at the same time crashed over me like a tidal wave! What was probably only a few minutes seemed like an eternity! Finally they were finished. I put my money in the container on the nightstand or card table or whatever it was and my heart began to comfort me by telling me, Maybe they really are going to use the money for this Special Needs Teaching Conference!! Then my brain brought me crashing back to reality when it chimed in with, You dumbass, they are Central College Dutch students! They are only using that money for hooch, hookah pipes and a new pair of those ridiculous wooden shoes!! At least they arent getting their Graduate Degree from Iowa State, right?!!! I just hope that the people who love me the most will find it in their heart to forgive me!
