I have to confess, I once bit on the anti-GMO hysteria. However, as I discovered the “evidence” against it usually came from people quoting from quackery websites like Dr. Mercola, Mike ‘Health Ranger’ Adams, or some propaganda piece they picked up at Whole Foods. The latest issue of Scientific America separates the wheat from the chaff on the GMO debate and comes down on the side of that arguments against it are for the most part, a tempest in a teacup. But the real life consequence of the anti-GMO activists is they are causing the death of thousands of people every year in the Third World. Half a million children die every year from Vitamin A defensives in the Third World, GMO rice with beta-catrone infused in it, can help save the life of these children.
