I have to make a short rant. I just want to say that it annoys the hell out of me when people say that a band or band member saved their life. That band did not take the razor away from you, that band did not take your lips off of that gun barrel, that band did not put the lid back on that bottle of pills. Austin Carlile did not save your life, his lyrics simply gave you hope. It was YOU who was strong enough to make that descision, it was YOU it felt some sliver of hope or some desire to live. The band opened your eyes. The lyrics that band sang gave you hope and showed you that it would get better and gave you the courage to not cut a little deeper, or pull the trigger or swallow those pills. Stop giving a band all of the credit that YOU AND ONLY YOU deserve. They only helped you save your own life. You are all so much stronger than you think. Recognize yourself as the one who saved your life and the band members as the ones who gave you the courage to keep living. ~yourstupidgirl
