I have to respectfully disagree with Mr. Glasson regarding the circumventing of the agenda process. The agenda process was followed as outlined by the ordinance below, however it may have eliminated some discontent had Mr. Glasson reviewed the ordinance prior to making false accusations. Accusations, which apparently haven’t been substantiated with any known or unknown facts within this article. Out of curiosity, which items did the councilman place on the agenda that weren’t properly vetted by Committee or Council for that matter? The Parking Garage? Coleman and Ben Sawyer Blvd and the Urban Corridor? Earl’s Court? Height allowances on Coleman Blvd.? Density issues? Which items are you referring to? It appears that all of the items listed above have not only been acknowledged and well vetted, but voted on by you and some of your colleagues. And because of your unwise decisions at the time, and the public scrutiny that you’re now facing, you feel you need to take the heat off of yourself by placing it on another. The transparency in this failed effort is more than obvious but the citizens of Mount Pleasant are much smarter than you give them credit for and see right through this attempt to shift blame. There has been more citizen input and attendance within the last year than any other time in recent history, not because of the good work youre doing, but what you’ve already allowed that’s not in keeping with nor in the best interest of all 70k plus citizens of Mount Pleasant. The citizens refuse to allow this behavior to continue and are determined to see it change in 2015. (B) Agenda. All matters will be placed in the Town Council agenda for regular monthly meetings if submitted by any Councilmember in writing to the Town Administrator by 4:30 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the scheduled Council meeting. All matters will be placed on special Town Council agendas if submitted by any Councilmember in writing to the Town Administrator at least 48 hours before the same. Additional items may be added to a Council agenda after the stated times, only through a motion approved by a majority of Council to amend the agenda at the time of the meeting.
