I have to say. I am EXTREMELY DISSPOINTED That if reports are true than Marlon Johnson is no longer with BTC. Personally, I didnt understand the purpose of having Marlon, Jerome and Gurshon.. but that is corporate. However, I for one didnt believe that. He had the support of Williams at that time he joined batelco because, as I see it Williams is an old school played out relic that may not understand the wave of the next generation buy in too technology. I will always remember the story that Reno Brown told me. That before his departure as board chairman of BTC, in 2002 he signed the contract with RIM ( BlackBerry) . I told him very unflattering that, that is not something to brag about, because batelco was ready for smart phones from 1999. ( I bought my first smartphone in Cayman in 2000) I am not attempting to make a case for Marlon. But the truth according to me is, why would you divorce yourself from the most capable person in the role that you require them to perform. Particularly when the fellow lied through his teeth to make the company look good. Marlon 99% of the stories you gave the public about btcs faults were bullshit. And We knew it, but like a trooper you stuck to your story. ( thats commendable) In my view all this does is further widened the divide between the government and the up coming professionals. Leon Williams, as a man that has claimed to have been victimized, i would have expected him to define the roles of people in the company versus firing them. Often times I hear retired people speak about how they are treated by the young people. This is a classic example of why some older people are treated the way they are. But as much as I may disagree with some of Marlons views. He is a young bright star of business in the Bahamas and should not have been summarily dismissed because of a change in philosophy in the organization. And truth according to me is, as real men, there are some things we will not be able to understand, and one of those truths is we will never get invited to that party.......
