I have to share something about Robin Williams. I had the chance - TopicsExpress

I have to share something about Robin Williams. I had the chance to work on the movie August Rush, in which Mr. Williams starred. One day while my students and I were being escorted to the lunch area by our production assistant, Mr. Williams and his production assistant walked up and joined us on our walk. My main student, who was one of the two major child leads, said to Mr. Williams, You are eating lunch at the church with us today? Robin Williams responded with, I sure am. They are going to show some of the dailies during lunch and I want to see too. He then proceeded to chat with us all the way to the church. THEN, after lunch I sat and watched as he posed for pictures with every single one of the children who were working that week. The week after August Rush wrapped, I began work on Night at the Museum. Our school trailer was parked along the edge of Central Park and I decided to sit on the stairs of the trailer while I waited for my student to come back from filming. And....low and behold, Robin Williams is being escorted to set. As he neared me, he looked at me and said, Werent you just working on August Rush? To which I replied, Yes, I was Mr. Williams. He smiled, looked at his PA and said, Maybe she is following me. Then he told me to have a good day. During the years that I worked at a professional childrens tutor, the one thing I learned is that you could tell a lot about a person from the way they interacted with the children with whom they were working. I know I felt like I knew everything I ever needed to know about Robin Williams from these two interactions--he was a class act. #robinwilliams #augustrush #nightatthemuseum
