I have to share this this. As many of you know - my beloved dad passed away at the age of 89 back in September. I brought mom home to live with me here in WV. I have days that mom will ask about dad several times and then theres times she dont ask quite as often. Because of the affects of her disease she speaks very low and strained but yesterday she looked over at me as I sat on the couch opposite her and she said very plainly, What would you do if you were in my shoes? I was almost afraid to ask her what she meant but in order to give her an answer I had to. She said, Johnie stays gone so much and I just dont know what to do about it. I always tell her the reality of dads death but this time I thought quickly and I said, Mom, if I were you I would not put up with that for one minute. I would divorce him! If you want to just go ahead and divorce him and you can continue to stay here with me. She agreed! But then I told her that dad loved her more than anything and he would have never let her go and that he didnt want to leave here but his time came to go get his reward. This is all a new experience for me but I wouldnt want it any other way. My mom is precious!
