I have traveled again but this time I have driven to Spain. The road was long but filled with excitement and adventure. I left London and headed to Andalucía, a region covered from Jerez in the West to Al-Maria in the East. The historic Muslim Spain was calling my family and I. The more I see Spain the more I realise how much I love this part of the world. I believe I am a Mediterranean in my heart, sorry to disappoint my Asian roots. I love the climate, the landscape and the temperament of the people of this region. It is a breathtaking country with snowcapped mountains that looks like the roof of the country. The wide-open green fields shines in the suns ray mimicking a sea of green waves. The rolling hills that never end but remain with you so near yet so distant. The spectacular lakes invite you to plunge deep in the turquoise clear water only to be stunned by its chilled embrace. The beautiful silver leaves of the olive trees in rows upon rows decorate the hilltops and valleys. The orange orchards create the perfect allure and its fragrant white flowers fill the air. The charming almond and cherry blossoms bring the wild mountains to life. The heavenly pomegranate and apricot trees work as the final icing on the heavenly cover over the magical Spain. It is hard to find Muslim presence in Andalucía today but the extraordinary marks of civilization have been engraved in every facet of Spain even today. Linguists suggest that more than fifty percent of Spanish language is rooted in the Arabic language. Spain is extremely Catholic today; it has invited the Jews who were expelled to return I wonder if it would extend the same courtesy to the Muslims.
