I have tremendous respect for Jimmy Carter. I worked on a Jimmy Carter Habitat for Humanity Build on the River Sioux Reservation in South Dakota. Each day President Carter would work hard all day on the house he was assigned, then late in the afternoons he would walk around and inspect the other houses. One day I heard him get on his walkie talkie and call for professional help for house #8, the one I was working on. We were a bunch of ladies, mostly, and he thought we perhaps needed some professional help! I wasnt insulted - we did need help! Then in the evenings, President Carter would sit around a big campfire and answer questions and tell stories. He and Rosalind slept in a tent, just like the rest of us - except his tent had to be big enough for the Secret Service guards. One night Pres. Carter danced with the Sioux Indians during a pow wow. It was funny to see the Secret Service dancing too while trying to keep Jimmy in constant view! I love and respect this good man!
