I have watched and re-watched this play over and over. At first, I was saying that this was a catch and, as much as I wanted Green Bay to win, I was willing to acknowledge that the Cowboys made one Hell of a play. But, with the technology at our disposal today, multiple camera angles had shown that while he did catch the ball in the air, he did not maintain full possession of the ball through the complete process of the catch. The ground can knock that ball loose and that is what happened. As Mike had stated, all we need to recall is Calvin Johnson and the uproar that swept the media and social media even to this day. It was a tough call to make and that is why Green Bay threw the red flag onto the field. There had to be indisputable video evidence to reverse the call. According to the NFL Rule Book and the video evidence presented, the call was made by the officials as such. Now we know that these referees during the playoffs have not been stellar and doing exactly what they should be, but on an extremely controversial call like this, I do believe that the correct call was made as full possession was not maintained through the entire process of the catch. Rant over.
