I have worked hard to eliminate complaining and venting from my Facebook statuses. But today I am going to make an exception. I am absolutely sick and tired of the Guatemalan government and courts. We work so hard to care for these kids and they do NOTHING to help. In fact, they keep burdening us with more and more demands and restrictions that make no sense. One judge just ordered us to take Giovanni to a special government doctor (one who is inferior to the top-notch specialists we pay for and use). Why did the judge order this for Giovanni but not the other children in our home? Because he wanted to. Now this inferior doctor is demanding that we provide special certification letters regarding his health from our doctors. The cost of obtaining these letters and delivering them to the proper bureaucracy? Over $100.00. Why do we need to do this? Because he said so. So, resources that could be used to care for Giovanni will instead be wasted on mindless governmental demands. Please pray that the stupidity will end and they will start working for the benefit of the child. (Deep breath. Serenity now. Another deep breath.) This concludes this rare rant. You may now resume your otherwise pleasant day.
