I havent UP-dated my Facebook, about my family, for quite awhile. 1. THANKS MUCH for continuing to pray for my niece, Ashley and her husband, Alex, (who lost their son, Devan, to ALD in July 2014) - they are still mourning and REALLY miss Devan (of course), but little-by-little they are doing better and better. They are wounded but not defeated and God is helping them day-by-day. 2. THANKS, too, for praying for my little great nephew (Cole) and his family as they work through his treatment to combat ALD. He received his bone marrow transplant last month and we are waiting to see if it will graft. This is how his mom (my niece, Shannon) expressed his situation tonight [12 Nov 2014]... 12 Nov 14 - Shannon Adler Chavez on Coles Champions for ALD Facebook: As Coles cell counts continue to recover. Lots happening this week. 11/13-Thursday ~ BIG DAY!!! 11:30 he goes in for his lumbar puncture/bone marrow aspiration. This is where they will be able to know the amount of donor cells vs. Coles cells. We want LOTS of donor cells and very little of Coles. Then we know he is accepting/grafting. 11/14-Friday ~ mom (Shannon) gets trained by pharmacist on ALL meds Cole will be going home on. 11/15-Saturday p.m./Sunday p.m. ~ Independence Day! This is where I get to take care of Cole independently (with help if needed). This way they know I can handle it at home 11/17-Monday (or Tuesday) ~ Plan is for Cole to come home! We do, however, still need Coles cell counts up to 500 for 3 consecutive days in order for him to come home (now @289). Please continue to pray for us and everything that is about to happen. ♡♡♡ So, thanks so much for all your prayers for my family--it means A LOT...MORE than you will EVER KNOW!!! Seriously! Thank-you!!! With Love and Appreciation! Carol
