I havent heard Narendra Modis speech in New York, but Ive read - TopicsExpress

I havent heard Narendra Modis speech in New York, but Ive read several posts on fb praising it. Some of them are from people who I believe have sound judgment. So I am sure there was something special about our PMs speech yesterday. This morning, I have also seen a comment, Clap for Modi, slap for Rajdeep Sardesai. As I was wondering what it meant, I saw on TV Sardesai being thrashed by Modi enthusiasts possibly outside Madison Square Garden. This is a dangerous trend, to put it mildly. If we start beating up people because they hold a different view from ours, there are two possibilities. (A) our society degenerates to the Middle Ages, where not logic, but brute force settles differences, or (B) a fascist state. I can hear you saying that these are just fringe elements, beating up Sardesai is not a declared policy of our PMs political party. But please tell me when BJP protested against crass regressive vandalism by its supporters, be it moral policing in Mangalore or hate speeches by a fake Swami before the UP elections this year? I know, many of you who support Modi do not subscribe to this philosophy of intolerance. Will you please speak up? Gunjan Kumar Ishan Ankit
