I havent seen this posted today so Id like to. My Dad had a Nina Simone 8Track when I was little and one day he explained to me about who Martin Luther King Jr. was and played it for me. Im talking I was probably 5 or 6. I liked all the songs but this is the one that I tried to play over and over (remember trying to play a chosen song with an 8track - not so easy). The story of the lyrics and the emotion of the the way it was sung by Ms. Simone touched me in a way that nothing else could have. I understood even at that young age. I think it might be a good idea for all little kids of all colors and creed to hear this song......like this little white kid from the suburbs did, a long time ago.... Nina Simone - Why?
