I havent updated anyone on Aunt Sandie in a couple of days....she did not have chemo on Monday....they will not do chemo until radiation is over and at least a week after that. However, they did access the new port to draw blood on Monday and they had a hard time flushing it and later she was going to get fluids but they could not flush it at that time so we thought there was something wrong with the new port. She is very sore and swollen from them poking and prodding and picking it 4 times. Today she had a MRI of the brain - its been a year and they want to make sure the cancer has not spread. They also did a port study this morning and they have it working properly now. They came out and told us the radiation machine was broken and that she may have to stay until Saturday....well, I dont have to tell you how upset this made her so the lady sitting next to us saw the look of disappointment on her face, said a prayer and within 5 minutes they came out and got her and the machine worked - YAY! We both are leaving here on Friday - 2 weeks, 2 days away from home is long enough! We would hitchhike if we had to - we may not make it very far but we would try!!! The radiation seems to be helping her pain in the back/tailbone area because her pain seems to be lessening with each treatment. So, keep those prayers coming! Thank you Rickford Blake for being such a wonderful husband - 2 more days baby!
