I havent written in a while. Things are settling down a little bit for us. The kids have been calm and happy being in their new routine. yesterday, I took the kids to our pediatrician. Its quite a change of pace to be in a doctors office that doesnt have other kids with cancer. My kids get funny looks and stares. When some do ask questions about the masks, and I tell them, the look on their face is priceless! I think most assume I am just an over protective mom that doesnt want her kids to get the flu. Which is true I guess in a way. Our doctor has us come in early in the morning before most of the sick kids, to avoid any exposure. I am at a new doctors office and so far I really like her. We didnt scare her off yet so thats good! They have been very accommodating. We went to get Bradys blood pressure checked and to get him a school physical. I am going to enroll him in a school homebound program. A teacher will come to our house 4 hours a week to help keep him academically on track. This will be really good for him! He needs some mental stimulation! I do some additional teaching with him and Charlee as well. Some good news is that the wean from his meds has gone more smoothly than I expected. They did such a tiny amount that his body tolerated it well. So thats great news! And his blood pressure is slowly coming down as well! Brady and I are heading back to St. Jude on Monday for his Tuesday clinic visit. Charlee has been off all her immune suppressant meds for about a week and a half and hasnt shown any worrisome signs. She will be visiting our local oncologist on Monday for blood work. I am excited for the St. Jude, Give Thanks Walk this saturday! I will be on stage with a few other families for a short ceremony before the walk. I am proud to help support St. Jude and share the impact they have had on our family!
