I hear a lot of folks asking, “what could the police officer that was forced to Michael Brown have done differently to avoid this tragedy”? I have yet to hear anyone in the media or a position of authority ask, “ what could Michael Brown have done that would have altered his fate that day”. Well, let’s consider that. Had Michael Brown chosen any one of the following options, he would likely be alive today. Not rob a store. Walk on the sidewalk Get out of the street when asked to by a police officer Not attack a police officer sitting in his car Not charge a police officer pointing a gun at him. There are millions of people trying to get into this country. Once here, they seem to prosper and have a quality of life that is better than it was from where they came. Even the illegal immigrants achieve something. Why cant inter-city youth understand that they are already American citizens which guarantees the pursuit of happiness. Happiness and success are pursuits. Neither will fall in your lap. You have to work for and make the necessary sacrifices to achieve. We are only guaranteed the pursuit, the rest is up to you.
